Diane Abbott and Shami Chakrabarti visit Yarl’s Wood and BRASS
Diane Abbott and Shami Chakrabarti visited Bedford on 23rd February to see for themselves conditions at Yarl's Wood. Afterwards Diane Abbott met the press and other organisations at BRASS and talked to our staff about their work.
Diane had waited over a year for permission to visit. She said she was shocked by what she had seen at the detention centre and would be asking the Home Secretary, Amber Rudd, about the conditions she saw.
