BRASS AGM 2019 Celebrates a Record Year

BRASS held its AGM at St Peter’s Church on Friday 19th July. The meeting was very well attended: we counted 50+ people which makes it at least equal to our best ever attended AGM.

Veta, our chair, thanked trustees, staff and volunteers for all their good work. Brian, our co-ordinator, informed the meeting that in all areas, tutoring, drop in, social activities and support for our Syrian families, we have helped a record number of people this year.

We are grateful for our guest speaker Mayor Dave Hodgson who spoke of how we are proud of the diversity of peoples in Bedford, the current challenging political climate, the great challenges facing refuges coming to this country and what a great help BRASS is to them in Bedford. He also spoke of partnership work and how well the Borough Council and BRASS are working with our Syrian families who now number 17.

Thank you very much to all who attended and to all our supporters in this record year for BRASS.
